During
Hari Raya Adilfitri Festival in Malaysia, people usually serve lots of
traditional food for instead Rendang, Lemang and Kuih Raya. It is the symbol of Raya actually as Raya
would not be much happening without it.
These traditional foods are practiced by the late generation before and
still apply in today’s customs. As for
Rendang, the origin comes from Minangkabau Indonesia, but it is popular in
Malaysia. Usually, people love to eat it
together with Ketupat, another must dish to be serve during the festival.
Lemang is
my family favourite dish actually and Raya would be a little bit gloomy without
it. Even my friends prefer Lemang if
they come to my open house. Lemang is sold during the
year, but more broadly on the day of such feasts. Lemang often served with shady or floss. It is a culinary tradition that is liked by many.
As
for Kuih raya, it is of course my favourite traditional cookies ever. Kuih Raya is served as a side dish and
however it is love by lots of people.
Lots of unique decoration created nowadays to attract the kids
especially, but however it still maintain the customs of Aidilfitri raya in
Malaysia.
