Raya Outfits


Baju Melayu

In Malaysia, Muslims would usually wear new outfit because it could represent the celebration of Raya.  The outfits usually being wear by male called “Baju Melayu”.  It is actually a simple plain outfits yet attached with “Kain Samping” to make them look more tidy and nice.  Furthermore, they would wear “Kopiah” which is white in colour or “Songkok” that is black in colour, to perfect the outfit.  Male are encouraged to spray a little bit perfume on the first day of raya especially when they go to perform “Solat Hari Raya”.  And of course, they would wear new “Baju Melayu” on the first day of Raya and so the second and third of Raya too.  

Baju Kurung

As for Female in Malaysia especially, their outfit is called as “Baju Kurung”.  Differ from “Baju Melayu”; “Baju Kurung” has more pattern and colors.  As for today’s moderns, not just “Baju Kurung” would be wear but also “Baju Kurung Moden” and “Baju Kebaya”.  Moreover, it would be entirely perfect if attached with Tudung Bawal or any pattern exist or maybe Shawl.  Any colors matched with the outfits would make them look more dazzling and neat.  Other than that, they would also wear their own new heels or slippers to make it more complete.  Nevertheless, “Baju Kurung” is suitable to wear with anything that suits them well.
